“Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” (Exodus 20:7) Voiceveray is a gospel musician from Columbus, Ohio who learned the truth of this verse the hard way. Born and raised in a Christian family, his growing-up story is also the journey of how he came to know and love God. His love for God was so great that he would never miss a day of church even when exhausted.
In contemplating what he wanted to do in life, he found a passion for music and decided to venture into the music industry later. His first attempts were in writing and freestyling verses about the Lord. Still, without a professional studio to refine his output’s quality, he knew that he was severely limited in growth opportunities.
Determined to make a name in music, Voiceveray researched how to develop his studio. He educated himself on the intricacies and nuances of music production. At the same time, he worked a part-time job to augment his expenses and accomplish requirements to graduate high school.
After he graduated, he decided against going to college despite the pressure put on him. Instead, he put his efforts into realizing the career in music that he envisioned. He found a local professional studio to record, but in his desire wasn’t music for a Christian audience anymore, as he started living in a way that opposed the teachings of the church. He sang of God and faith but eventually started living a sinful life of destruction.
Simply put, Voiceveray took the Lord’s name in vain.
This fault against God would later come to bite him, as a few months later found him facing potential jail time and loss of livelihood after a series of misfortunes. He had no transportation, not much money, and no motivation to record music consistently and promote himself.
Attempts to bounce back did not work, and he realized that it was for a reason: God was calling upon him to return. He started going back to church, but with a consistently sinful lifestyle, that did not help as well. It was not until he changed his lifestyle and cut off his negative influences that he felt God grace his life as He did before the entire ordeal.
Today, Voiceveray considers Voices Choices Studios to be God’s welcoming gift to his son who had been lost. Today he is thriving as an artist with a distinctive sound and as the owner of a studio who guides numerous musicians in the industry. In using his skills and the resources bestowed upon him to glorify God and His Kingdom, he found that he is blessed in abundance like never before. Voiceveray is now making big connections in his career, growing in every way possible and further developing his identity in the Lord.
