The Flash trailer packs a massive punch, reception is good

The FlashDC made the decision to step up this year with the release of four projects as Marvel takes a sabbatical on the big screen.

The Flash, which was directed by Andy Muschietti, is one of the most eagerly awaited movies this year.

Despite several difficulties encountered during production, many people eagerly anticipated The Scarlet Speedster’s debut solo film after the first official teaser was made public and became viral online.

The movie

The Flash production had a number of issues prior to the trailer’s release.

As soon as they were connected to a project, directors and authors would part ways.

Thankfully, Christina Hodson and Andy Muschietti were selected as the project’s writer and director.

The excellent feedback for the teaser indicates that the Argentine horror filmmaker was a wise choice.

But even so, it is clear that Geoff Johns’ Flashpoint books had an impact on the teaser for the movie that will be released in June.

In the movie, which also introduces the new DC Universe created by James Gunn and Peter Safran, Ben Affleck and Ezra Miller are reunited.

The trailer

Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) is shown in the opening sequence of The Flash trailer standing in front of his boyhood house wearing a brand-new suit.

Viewers see the young Barry’s mother passing through a sequence of montages while also learning about Barry’s capacity for space travel and his wish to remain there.

He is then shown discussing how to use time travel to alter his mother’s destiny with Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck).

Barry ignores Bruce’s warning that there could be repercussions in favor of carrying out his intentions.

He learns when he runs into himself that history has been altered, with certain modifications but also without Superman.

Barry struggles with the knowledge that he made a world without metahumans while Supergirl (Sasha Calle) makes her live debut in a dreary jail.

Additionally, he has returned to the time when General Zod (Michael Shannon) first set foot on the planet.

Barry enlists the aid of his other self to locate Bruce Wayne, but instead finds Michael Keaton’s interpretation of Bruce Wayne, who uses the catchphrase “I’m Batman,” in his return.

They work together to find Supergirl prisoner.

The two Barrys and a costumed Supergirl, whose appearance was influenced by art by Bruno Redondo from the Injustice comics, confront Zod in a sequence of montages.

Batman returns

Michael Keaton reprises his role as the renowned actor who is unquestionably one of the finest to wear the Bat cowl in The Flash, despite the fact that Ben Affleck plays Batman in the DC Extended Universe.

When the two Barrys search for the original Barry, they first come upon Bruce Wayne in the Batcave.

Even though Keaton is dressed in the Batman costume that made him famous, it’s Danny Elfman’s Batman theme that really stirs up memories for many.

Praise & changes

After encountering some difficulties, The Flash is now prepared to make its movie premiere.

James Gunn, who had already seen the movie, stated:

“I will say here that Flash is probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.”

Test audiences’ positive evaluations of the movie last year were comparable to those of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, gaining praise from experts in the business.

Gunn and Safran changed The Flash’s conclusion to fit their new ideas, and a special DC character was eventually added during a further shoot.

A few of the omitted characters include:

  • Batman (Michael Keaton)
  • Supergirl (Sasha Calle)
  • Superman (Henry Cavill)
  • Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot)

The Flashpoint parallels

The plots of Geoff Johns’ 2011 Flashpoint series and The Flash movie are surprisingly similar.

In the comic books, Flash goes back in time to save his mother from passing away.

The following are the main points where the comics and the film diverge:

  • Eobard Thawne or Reverse Flash are involved
  • There was no Atlantean and Amazonian War in the movie
  • Supergirl replaces Superman inside the jail
  • Thomas Wayne’s replacement in the comics is Bruce Wayne, played by Michael Keaton

The Black Racer, the physical representation of death from the Speed Force, is likely to emerge even if Reverse Flash isn’t named.

Barry Allen could be the Reverse Flash in the alternate universe based on his clothing.

The presence of Reverse Flash, if any, has not yet been proven.

On June 16, 2023, The Flash will be shown in theaters.
