Taylor Swift recently released a music video for “Anti-Hero,” but criticism prompted the video to be edited after some fans complained.

The controversial scene

Anti-Hero is one of the songs from Taylor Swift’s 10th studio album, Midnights.

Apple Music released a music video for the song on Wednesday, and attentive fans quickly pointed out the controversial moment.

The YouTube version initially featured a scene with the word “FAT” on a ladder.

The negative reaction from fans led to the music video changing the controversial scene.

The edited version replaces the original on YouTube.

Anti-Hero

Taylor Swift is the writer and director behind the Anti-Hero music video.

Anti-Hero depicts the artist’s “nightmarish scenarios and intrusive thoughts.”

The controversial scene showed Swift weighing herself on a bathroom scale.

A close-up of the scale shows the numbers replaced by the word “FAT.”

The updated version cuts the scene that body positivity supporters considered fatphobic.

Since then, video debates have flooded the internet.

The debates reached the talk show The View, where co-host Sunny Hostin pointed out that critics missed the point of the scene.

Taylor Swift’s struggles

The singer referred to her struggles with body image and eating disorders in the past.

In the 2020 documentary “Miss Americana,” Taylor Swift shared that sometimes unflattering photos and horrible comments about her figure trigger her.

In addition, Taylor Swift said the comments would prompt her to starve herself and stop eating.
