Stranger Things Season Four: Building Up to the Last Two Episodes

Fans waited over three years to return to Hawkins, so when Stranger Things Season Four finally arrived, it was no surprise that people quickly binged the series.

Apart from an update to the story and new characters, Season Four featured an updated runtime for each episode, going beyond the typical 40+ to 50+ minutes to more than an hour (nine hours in total).

However, fans were surprised that the story felt incomplete after episode seven. It was later revealed that Stranger Things were pioneering a one-season-two-volumes edition for the latest season, leaving many wondering when Volume Two will drop and how many episodes are left.

It was revealed that there are only two episodes left for the season, both of which will be arriving on Netflix on July 1, 2022.

The news that only two episodes remain may sound disappointing to some, but the Duffer Brothers have a lot stored in those two episodes. Continuing the trend of going beyond the one-hour mark, episode eight will run for over an hour, while the grand finale will reach an incredible two hours and thirty minutes.

The last two episodes (spoilers ahead!) will pick up in Vecna’s lair, where Nancy found herself watching the birth of the season’s primary villain in Hawkins. Vecna was revealed to be Henry Creel, the son of Robert Englund’s Victor Creel, and the first experiment from the same lab that produced Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven.

Meanwhile, Eleven will have come to terms with unleashing One’s wrath on the other experiments and will probably have a game plan on how to stop his revenge on the citizens of Hawkins. Across the country, Jonathan, Mike, Will, and Argyle will (hopefully) reach Eleven in time to warn her about the human danger headed her way.

In Russia, Hopper, Joyce, Murray, and Dimitri still have to fight their way out of the prison with guards and the Demogorgon standing between them and their freedom. Back in Hawkins, Steve, Robin, and Eddie reunite with Dustin, Max, and Lucas but must find a way to bring Nancy back.

The last two episodes not only mark the conclusion of the season but also the beginning of the end for Stranger Things as the Duffer Brothers revealed they have a plan to end the story for our beloved characters.
