Miley Cyrus threw her second annual Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party over the weekend to mark the conclusion of 2022.
Dolly Parton, a well-known country music icon and Cyrus’ godmother, joined her on stage.
The program
The debut of Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party event was held in 2021, and the positive reception it received from the public was sufficient to support the start of a second program.
Celebrities, including Pete Davidson, Jack Harlow, Billie Joe Armstrong, Noah Cyrus, Anitta, Saweetie, and others, attended the first event, which NBC hosted.
6.3 million people watched the NBC telecast.
Sia, Latto, Liily, FLETCHER, and Rae Sremmurd made appearances and performed on the most recent show.
The Saturday Night Live cast members Sarah Sherman and Chloe Fineman and the comedic ensemble Please Don’t Destroy also joined.
The duet
To welcome 2023, Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton performed a spectacular musical mashup.
To end the year, the two musicians captivated the crowd on stage.
The 2013 hit song “Wrecking Ball” was performed by Cyrus and Parton just before the ball ushered in the new year.
As they demonstrated their vocal talent and the stage lights fluttered to the beat, the audience joined in on the song.
Dolly Parton changed the song’s lyrics from “I will always want you” to “I will always love you” as they drew closer to the bridge.
She transitioned into the well-known classic that Whitney Houston had made famous.
The crowd went wild as Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton seamlessly switched between emotional numbers.
The two artists sang the bridge gently while harmonizing with each other and the audience.
They hugged on stage as the song came to an end.

I Will Always Love You
The famous song that is most frequently linked to breakups debuted in 1973.
When Dolly Parton started concentrating on her solo career, she wrote the song about Porter Wagoner, her longtime business partner.
Whitney Houston performed the song more than twenty years later, in 1992, for The Bodyguard film.
Houston won the Grammy for Record of the Year for her massive smash cover, which peaked at number at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
The late Whitney Houston’s version reportedly brought over $10 million in royalties for Dolly Parton.
Later, she admitted that she had used the money to help a Nashville Black community.
Parton stated that she fell in love with Houston’s rendition when she heard the cover.
“You never know when you’re writing songs, how they’re going to turn out,” said the musician.
“But after ‘I Will Always Love You’ became a worldwide thing [in 1992], it was in the movie [The] Bodyguard, and it was No.1. I really felt my worth.”
Miley’s next project
Miley Cyrus announced during her NBC special that “Flowers,” a brand-new song, will be released on January 13.
She announced it when sharing a clip of herself strolling along a street following a commercial.
Miley Cyrus appeared in the video dressed in a gold top and bottoms while a sample of the upcoming song played in the background.
On a black screen, the words “NEW YEAR, NEW MILEY, NEW SINGLE. FLOWERS JANUARY 13” were scrawled in white.
