Jenna Ortega – The fourth season of Netflix’s You, which follows Joe Goldberg as he (again) takes a new identity in London, makes its formal debut this week.
Joe (now Professor Jonathan Moore) has been entangled in a “whodunit” since he left America to pursue Tati Gabrielle’s Marienne.
Ellie Alves, a character who had appeared in earlier seasons, had been anticipated by fans.
However, the only returning character from past seasons will be Penn Badgley (because he is the main character).
Although Wednesday’s production for another Netflix series made it impossible for Jenna Ortega to return, Ellie’s comeback was assured.
The news
The Wednesday actress has lately made a reputation for herself in a number of motion pictures, including the popular Netflix series.
According to Sera Gamble, the showrunner of You, who talked with IndieWire for an interview, Jenna Ortega wants to go back to Joe Goldberg’s journey.
“We wanted to bring Ellie back and we heard, ‘Oh, Jenna is doing some show,'” revealed Gamble.
“It’s been just such a pleasure to see Jenna this year. We have ideas for Ellie if her schedule allows her to visit us again.”
Ellie
In season two of You, Jenna Ortega played the younger sister of Delilah Alves, who was portrayed by Carmela Zumbado. Jenna Ortega joined the cast in 2018.
She played Los Angeles-based wannabe director Ellie Alves.
After Joe’s overzealousness saves Ellie from a sexual assault by Chris D’Elia’s Henderson, a well-known celebrity Ellie is interning for, Ellie gets to know Joe better.
Joe tells the sister that Delilah won’t be returning after she goes away, offers her money, and urges her to leave Los Angeles and start a new life.
Joe reveals that despite Ellie’s absence during the third season, he still sends her money.
Ellie, played by Ortega, is one of the few characters who survive their friendship.

A desire to return
Jenna Ortega announced her wish to play Ellie again in a 2019 interview with Teen Vogue.
“It would be amazing to see Ellie come back and take control of her life,” said the Wednesday star.
“I want her to be an even bigger badass. I don’t want her to come back and be extremely vulnerable and sad.”
“We have to remember that even though people still find Joe somewhat charming, he’s evil, he does terrible things, and he gets away with them because of his gender and race and position in society,” Ortega continued.
“[Ellie] has so much potential and so much talent that she shouldn’t waste because of him.”
Given that Joe and his pupil Nadia, played by upcoming actress Amy-Leigh Hickman, have become close, it is unclear how Jenna Ortega would fit into the current storyline.
Their teacher-student relationship is eerily similar to his relationship with Ellie in his role as the older sibling.
“To me, his relationship with Nadia is really telling,” said Sera Gamble. “He has such a soft spot that is truly altruistic.”
“He has really good boundaries with you people… except when he occasionally kills their abusive stepparents, but otherwise he’s a great mentor.”
What has Jenna Ortega been up to?
Jenna Ortega has been engaged in a variety of different projects since her participation in You’s second season.
Before appearing in other horror films, she appeared in the 2020 Netflix sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen.
She appeared in three horror films in 2022, earning the nickname “scream queen.”
She also appeared in X, the fifth Scream movie last year, and Studio 666, which included the rock band Foo Fighters.
But without a doubt, Wednesday on Netflix was her biggest break.
A goth icon
After Wednesday’s Netflix premiere in the latter half of last year, Jenna Ortega’s popularity grew.
The goth icon of the series is a young woman with psychic talents who engages in a number of exploits at Nevermore Academy.
Filming occurred between September 2021 and March 2022, keeping Ortega away from You.
Wednesday, a popular television program that consistently topped the ratings, was picked up for a second season.
Jenna Ortega may be able to return for a future You appearance because the show hasn’t yet begun production.
