Monsters: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story continues to make waves online, instilling an idea in people of who to dress up as for Halloween.
Dahmer’s popularity has dominated the internet, with people eager to dress up as the infamous serial killer for costume parties.
However, not everyone is crazy about the series.
A well-known online retailer decided that it would stop selling Dahmer suits.
eBay on the ban
An eBay spokesperson emailed CNN to confirm the removal.
The email also explained that the site would remove any references or items related to Jeffrey Dahmer’s costumes.
The platform cites its “Violent and Violent Crimes Policy” as the reason for the removal.
eBay’s policy states:
“Listings that promote or glorify violence or violence acts, or are associated with individuals who are notorious for committing violent acts, are not allowed.”
While surprising, eBay’s decision to ban Jeffrey Dahmer’s costumes was not new.

The Dahmer series
The Dahmer series on Netflix has caused a lot of people to go into debates.
The majority of reviewers criticized the depiction of serial killers.
CNN’s Sara Stewart suggested that despite the show’s focus on victims, Dhamer ended up focusing on the insensitive.
She pointed out that the show did not consult with the victims’ families prior to airing the series.
Evan Peters plays Jeffrey Dahmer in the series, which continues to gain popularity.
The Dahmer Show attracted more than 196 million weekly viewing hours after its release.

Any Saturday afternoon search on eBay for “Jeffrey Dahmer suit” still yielded some results.
Clear glasses like those worn by Evan Peters and the real Jeffrey Dahmer are still available on eBay’s lists.
Other online retailers like Etsy still sell kits that make a Jeffrey Dahmer costume when put together.
The items listed on Etsy include:
- Blonde wigs

Gymnast Simone Biles did not hold back on her frustration against the costume.
