Kevin Durant had signed for the Brooklyn Nets for the past few years but recently expressed his desire for a trade.

Kevin Durant is one of the most respected players in NBA history. He introduced his name to the Oklahoma Thunders before establishing himself as one of the greats with the Golden State Warriors.

From 2020 until last season, Durant was a prominent figure in the team’s call for the finals.

In late June, Durant filed for a commercial law to start the NBA free agency. While nothing has been confirmed, rumors are circulating, many of which point to a reunion between the player and his former team, the Golden State Warriors.

Steve Bulpett, an NBA columnist for Heavy.com, spoke with various league executives who are unsure of the Warriors’ interest in Durant.

“There are differing thoughts from sources on whether Golden State is truly interested in re-acquiring Durant,” Bulpett wrote.

“‘I think they’re worried about where KD might wind up,'” he continued. “[The Warriors] are in a good spot. They’ve got young guys behind their veterans, and they could be really good for a long time, so I’m not sure they really want KD. But I think they’re worried he might go someplace and beat them – if that team isn’t all depleted from what they have to do to get him.'”

Ric Bucher, an FS1 analyst, spoke to an Eastern Conference general manager who said he would be willing to part with young Warriors players to work with Durant again, including Jordan Poole, James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody.

“I would give up all those young guys,” the manager said. “And who would you rather have, KD or Wiggins? The time is now. When Steph goes, so do their championship chances.”

Last week, Andscape’s Marc J. Spears reported that the Warriors stars have communicated with Durant following his swap request, indicating that the trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green would like to welcome a reunion.

Since Durant has requested a trade from the Nets, there have been no updates on which team he will finish. While getting Durant back into their lineup won’t be easy, they could strengthen their league window if they reunite with Kevin Durant.
